5 MUST HAVE APPS FOR ONLINE BUSINESSES

Jenna Bee

There are so many amazing Apps out there that you can download on your phone to make running your online business so much easier. I could have gone on forever writing this post because there are SO many Apps I love using, but I’ve narrowed it down to 5 of my absolute MUST HAVES.

Whether your business is running a blog or selling second hand jackets on Depop, these Apps are going to be a game-changer.

#1 Canva

This is my number 1 must have app for a reason. If you are running any online business and you do not have Canva – how are you creating your graphics? It honestly makes creating content so much easier and it makes it look professional. The best thing about it – it’s FREE. It has hundreds of free templates for you to choose from and edit to make it fit your business. You can either use these free templates or create your graphic from scratch. I use Canva to create my graphics for Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. If you want to take your content to a new level, download Canva now!

#2 Pexels

There are so many sites that have free stock images such as Raw Pixel, Resplashed, Pixi Stock, Free Range Stock. But my favorite is Pexels. I love the quality of the images and how fast and easy it is to find a particular image. I do use other free stock image sites but I always go back to Pexels. There are a lot of people who use the stock photos on Canva, so if you are wanting to stand out and be seen then you are going to need to use your own images (or images on these free stock sites).

#3 Plann

Working online means you spend a lot of time on your laptop and phone. So if there are apps to help schedule your posts (so that you can spend less time on your devices) why not use them? I personally love seeing my Instagram layout before I even begin posting. I want to see if everything flows, the theme is carried through, and that I am posting all the content I need to be posting. Plann allows you to post your images, edit them, write a caption, and schedule the day and time you would like it to be posted. I plan my Instagram content at the beginning of every month, so that it’s one thing I don’t have to worry about. I do however still make sure I am going onto Instagram everyday so I can engage with potential clients and post on my stories.

#4 Freshbooks

My biggest worry when I started my online business was about Payments and Invoicing clients. Dealing with clients from all over the world with different bank accounts was very intimidating and I didn't know where to start. With Freshbooks you can set up recurring or one-off invoices, get paid online, track expenses, and track your working hours. End of year taxes aren’t as intimidating as they used to be.

#5 Tailwind

As a Pinterest Manager I have probably saved the best for last. Tailwind can help Pinterest become your number 1 source of traffic to your website. It looks complicated at first but there are youtube videos that can walk you through it, and honestly, once you get the hang of it, its so easy to use! You can use it to create a pinning schedule, join tribes and communities to boost your posts, and create smartloops to keep your content recycling. Unfortunately, Tailwind is not free but it is 100% worth it.

A little BONUS app: If you love creating notes and ticking off all your goals, assignments and deadlines, download Asana now! I think I have created notes for every little thing in my life. I am obsessed!
